“ISO is a quality indicator, a sign of a reliable partner”

The certification process at TERRA-PAK was overseen by Mykola Porada, Chief Technologist.

Mykola talks about ISO certification:

“Our clients are regularly interested in the availability of ISO certificates. For individual clients, the availability of such documentation from the supplier of packaging materials is critical. When participating in tenders, ISO certificates are also often needed.

Even before certification, our production process met the basic requirements of the ISO 9001 standard in most aspects, so we decided to undergo an audit according to this standard.

ISO is a universally recognized quality standard

Full members of  ISO (International Organization for Standardization) are more than 160 countries – almost the whole world, with the exception of some countries in Africa, Asia and South America. However, the benefit and advantage of having this certificate is determined not by its recognition by certain countries, but by the fact that ISO is primarily a quality indicator, a sign of a reliable partner.

Therefore, even in those countries that are not members of this organization, clients who are looking for a reliable counterparty will rather prefer cooperation with a company that has such a certificate than with one that does not have this document.

ISO standards are based on the basic principles of quality management: customer focus – leadership – staff involvement – process approach – improvement – evidence-based decision making – relationship management.

TERRA-PACK was almost ready for certification

You probably can’t be fully prepared for this, and TERRA-PACK is no exception, but we didn’t have any critical comments that couldn’t be corrected in a fairly short period of time. Both with regard to production processes and their documentation.

During the certification process, it was necessary to both review the processes and create them “from scratch”. In general, after receiving the certificate, there is no turning back – from this moment on, the company is in a constant and endless process of revising old and introducing new procedures, corrective actions, instructions.

It is important to understand that upon receiving the certificate we did not become sinless and infallible at one moment, it is not so. He who does nothing is not wrong.

With procedures in place that have been tested by many businesses around the world over the years, we will be able to respond to errors more quickly and efficiently. And ideally, practically minimize their occurrence.

ISO 22000:2018

The ISO 22000:2018 quality management system is primarily aimed at the food industry and standardizes the conditions of their production in order to increase their safety for consumers. But, at the same time, it can also be used in related industries – warehouse facilities for storing products, kitchen utensils, packaging materials, etc.

Obtaining ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 certificates shows our focus on using the best practices in the production and providing customers with reliable and high-quality packaging products: tape, stretch film, PP tape, bubble film, etc. This certification confirms that we implement effective quality control processes and adhere to the norms and standards that govern our industry. Rostyslav Demyanovych, director of TERRA-PAK, comments on receiving the certificates:
